Jolie Visage Claimed-Thursday August 27, 2009

After finishing fourth Wednesday afternoon at Arlington Park, Jolie Visage was claimed for $30,000 in a three way shake by trainer Hugh Robertson. The race was taken off the turf due to the rain with Jolie Visage sent off as the favorite. She broke well and saved ground about two-lengths off the lead and raced in tight quarters down the stretch beaten just over four lengths for fourth.

After a promising two-year old season in which she finished third in a stake at Keeneland, Jolie Visage never seemed to move forward as a three or four year old. Jolie Visage was 2-2-2 in 20 lifetime starts with career earning of $73,600.

Jolie V In For Wednesday-Sunday August 23, 2009

Jolie Visage is scheduled to make her next start this Wednesday at Arlington Park. She has been a bit confusing for trainer Brian Williamson as she at times shows signs of breaking through at the NW2X level but has failed in her last six attempts. She will be dropping into the 30K claiming level for the first time with the hopes that the class drop will give her a bit of confidence.

We have looked into the use of blinkers for Jolie Visage to get her more focused when turning for home, but after discussions with trainer Brian Williamson, he feels the class drop is what is needed. The race is set to go on the turf at a mile and an eigth which is probably not her best distance but hopefully she will be on or near the lead and be able to out-kick them to the wire.

The race is the fifth on the card with jockey Jermaine Bridgmohan in the irons at morning line odds of 5-1.

Jolie Visage Sitting On Go For Sunday-Friday July 31, 2009

I didn’t think Jolie Visage could look any better than she did coming into her last race which she finshed second beaten a half a length. But after seeing her gallop last Saturday morning, I would have to say, she looks even better. She going up against a pretty nice group in this Sunday’s eigth race at Arlington Park and will be breaking from post position eight in a field of ten going a mile on the turf. Jolie will have the return services of jockey J. Bridgmohan and has been installed at a rather surprising 12-1 on the morning line.

Strong Second for Jolie Visage-Friday July 10, 2009

Jolie Visage put in the type of effort we have been looking for as she finished second beaten half a length Friday afternoon at Arlington Park. She was training very aggressively the last couple of weeks and it was nice to see her fight down the lane to hold her position.

After breaking well, Jolie Visage was tracking just off the leaders flank and when jockey Jermaine Bridgmohan set her down for the drive, it loooked as though Jolie was going get past her. But the leader still had something left and they fought all the way to the wire. Trainer Brian Williamson was very pleased with the performance and she came back to the barn in good order. Going off at over 16-1, Jolie Visage paid $15.40 to place and $10.80 to show.

Off The Turf And Slammed-Wednesday June 24, 2009

Jolie Visage took a shot which almost turned her sideways going into the first turn Friday at Arlington Park. With the race being taken off the turf due to the rains, Jolie Visage was forced to race wide after the incident and was stalking the pace just three lengths off the lead. In the far-turn she looked as though she was going to go on but ran evenly down the lane to finish sixth beaten just over five lengths. We were looking for a better effort from Jolie Visage as she has been training well in the mornings but just doesn’t seem to fininsh up like we would like in the afternoons. We have been kicking around the idea of just sending her to the lead and if she can get to the front, it may give her a bit more confidence as to where she might finish up better down the lane.

Jolie Visage In For Friday-Monday June 15, 2009

Jolie Visage will take on nine others as she goes postward in the nightcap Friday at Arlington Park. The race is scheduled for the about a mile distance on the turf course in this NW2X event. Jockey Chris Emigh has picked up the mount on Jolie V who has been training well for this and looked extremely sharp Sunday morning while going through her paces.

Jolie Visage Fifth Again-Sunday May 24, 2009

With a firm turf course and with a race under her belt, it looked as though Jolie Visage was ready for a good effort on Saturday at Arlington Park. The field was pretty tough for a NW2X but she held her own through slow fractions until just inside the eigth pole when she faded to fifth beaten about four lengths. She might have been a little to hyped up the first part of the race but we would really like to see her finish up better than she has. An equipment change could be in the cards for Jolie Visage with the addition of blinkers a possiblity in her next start, a mile turf race on June 19th at Arlington Park.

Jolie V In For Saturday-Thursday May 21, 2009

Jolie Visage is set to make her second start of the year in Saturday’s fourth race at Arlington Park. Her 2009 debut was taken off the turf in which she ran an even race finishing fifth beaten six lengths over the polytrack surface. Hopefully we will be able to run on the turf with the weather reports being favorable for a firm grass course on Saturday. She has trained forwardly as of late and will take on eight others with Lyndie Wade in the saddle going a mile and a sixteenth in this NW2X event.

Jolie Visage Fifth In 2009 Debut-Monday May 4, 2009

As expected, with all the rain during the week, all races were taken off the turf course on Friday at Arlington Park and moved to the polytrack. Jolie Visage was then set off as the longest shot on the board at over 20-1 and finished fifth beaten just over six lengths. This was Jolie’s first race after a five month break and should set her up nicely for her next scheduled start on May 23rd on the turf.

Jolie Visage Begins 2009-Wednesday March 4, 2009

Jolie Visage arrived at Hawthorne Racecourse late Tuesday afternoon to begin her preperation for the 2009 racing campaign. After a three month freshening at the farm, Jolie Visage settled into her stall and went for a routine gallop Wednesday morning very nicely according to trainer Brian Williamson. She had been in light training since mid-February at Fairberry Farm.
