Mon Amour Coming Along-Sunday May 24, 2009

After jogging the last week or so due to the curb in Mon Amour’s left hind leg, he has resumed training and looks to be moving well during routine gallops in the morning. Trainer Brian Williamson said he wanted to back off a little due to the fact that Mon Amour was showing a bit of inflammation in the leg and was walking a little gingerly while cooling out after a serious work about ten days ago. I was at the barn Saturday and he was moving well and Williamson says he is happy with the way Mon Amour has responded the last few days.

Mon Amour Makes Second Start-Thursday April 23, 2009

Mon Amour is set to make the second start of his career in the second race this Sunday at Hawthorne Racecourse. After an even effort in his debut in which Mon Amour bled, he will be treated with lasix for the first time and will have the services of jockey Lyndie Wade in the saddle.

Let's Chalk It Up To Experience-Monday March 16, 2009

Mon Amour’s first start was uneventful as he handled himself well in the paddock and loaded with no hesitation. He broke well and settled into a even gallop while following extremely slow fractions the entire trip. With a half-mile in .53 and three quarters in 1:19, there was really no chance to close on those kind of fractions no matter what kind of horse you are. Mon Amour finished fifth in the five horse field beaten just over thirteen lengths. All in all he didn’t run that bad for his first start and will be scoped to check for any bleeding that may have occurred.

Mon Amour Set For Debut-Saturday March 14, 2009

Mon Amour is set to make his racing debut in the second race on Monday at Hawthorne Racecourse. The race is for straight three year old maidens with a claiming tag of 15K going a mile and seventy yards. Lyndie Wade has the call on Mon Amour who is 4-1 on the morning line in the compact field of six.

Mon Amour Looking Towards First Start-Wednesday March 4, 2009

Mon Amour worked 5/8ths of a mile out of the gate Wednesday morning and continues to train forwardly with the possibility of his racing debut coming on March 19th at Hawthorne Racecourse. He has been training nicely for trainer Brian WIlliamson who is giving him a solid foundation in which Mon Amour has responded well.

Mon Amour Coming Along-Tuesday February 10, 2009

Mon Amour continues to train forwardly at Hawthorne Racecourse. While working in company with two other horses, Mon Amour went his first 5/8ths early Monday morning in a easy 1:05.4. The big grey continues to be doing well with the hopes of an early spring debut.

Mon Amour Back In Training-Tuesday November 25, 2008

After a few months off due to a curb in his left hind, Mon Amour arrived at Hawthorne Racecourse Monday to resume training for the 2009 racing season. Mon Amour came back with a little extra flesh after the break and went well while galloping this morning according to trainer Brian Williamson.

Back To The Farm-Thursday July 24, 2008

Mon Amour had shown ability early in his works but seemed to lack the mental maturity at this stage of his young career. He was more interested in playing around at the racetrack instead of getting down to the business of training. All young horses develop physically as well as mentally at different times, some taking to it early while others needing a bit more time to mature. Mon Amour has been sent back to Fairberry Farm to give him a mental break. This will also give his body the time to grow and mature a bit more as he, along with some of the other two-year olds, had developed some back end problems which trainer Brian Williamson feels could be the effect of the polytrack racing surface.

Mon Amour Learning What It's All About-Sunday July 6, 2008

Mon Amour continues to learn what it takes to be racehorse as he is put through his paces by trainer Brian Williamson. He has had a couple of 1/4 and 3/8ths of a mile works since arriving from the farm and has shown signs that he is begining to figure it out. He has been working side by side with another two-year old who is mentally, a bit more advanced than he is at his point. Mon Amour has learned quite a bit in the last few weeks but at times still wants to play around and loses his focus. Most young horses go through this and all come around in their own time.

Mon Amour Arrives At Arlington-Thursday June 5, 2008

It is time to get a bit more serious as Mon Amour arrived at Arlington Thursday afternoon to begin training. He was a little hot after the van ride from Fairberry Farm and was ccoled off with a light spraying of the hose and a few trips around the shed-row. According to trainer Brian Willaimson Mon Amour acclimated well to his new surroundings and was relaxing in his stall late in the afternoon.
