Lampoon Foals Straight Line Colt-Thursday June 2, 2011

Lampoon became a mother for the second time when she had a nice looking colt Memorial Day weekend at Fairberry Farm. The colt is chestnut and is by multiple stakes winner Straight Line, whose first crop of racing age will be hitting the track this year. Lampoon was bred to Posse the previous year which resulted in a filly that is now a yearling and looks very powerful in the hind end just like her mother. She will be getting 2011 off and will be bred next year.

Seguro Wins In The Slop!!-Wednesday April 20, 2011

After heavy rains cancelled all turf racing, Seguro took to the sloppy track with a convincing three length win Tuesday afternoon at Hawthorne Racecourse. Breaking from post position eight he settled in his normal spot in the back of the pack down the backside before unleashing a sustained wide bid and was drawing off at the wire.

Seguro Loses Shoe Finishes Fourth-Thursday March 17, 2011

With a speed bias working against him, Seguro used his patented late run to finish fourth yesterday at Hawthorne. It was discovered after the race he had lost his left front shoe and is not known when it came off. He returned to the barn in good shape and was walking well the following morning.

Seguro Wins 2011 Debut!!!-Monday February 28, 2011

With a sustained sweeping move around a full-field of twelve, Seguro made his 2011 debut a winning one last Saturday at Hawthorne Racecourse. After trailing the field down the backside, Seguro started his bid on the far-turn and continued to pick up horse after horse down the stretch with urging by jockey Eddie Perez for a one length victory.

Seguro Missed It By...that much!!!-Sunday October 24, 2010

Even though he wasn’t running on what is his best surface, Seguro put together a game effort on Friday to finish second by a nose at Hawthorne Racecourse. He tracked the field and while being forced wide on the turn for home, he made a strong sustained bid that fell just short and would have won with one more jump at the wire. Seguro came back to the barn in good shape and cooled out well.

Let's Try This Again-Sunday August 15, 2010

After a disapointing outing in his last where it was discovered that Seguro was suffering from a slight case of the colic, it’s time to make amends this Friday at Arlington Park. Since then, all bloodwork reports have come back clean and Seguro has been burying his head in the feed tub and if his last work is any indication, he looks to be ready to go.
The race is scheduled as the sixth on the card with a field of nine going postward at a mile on the poly-track with jockey Lyndie Wade in the saddle.

Seguro Back On The Turf-Sunday July 25, 2010

After his initial effort on the grass in his last start was more of a learning experience than anything else, Seguro will look to make amends in the eigth race this Thursday at Arlington Park.
The July 8th race in which he was reluctant to load and spotted the field over twelve lengths down the backside was actually very impressive as he traveled wide and was still only beaten two lengths. Seguro has been schooling at the gate the last week or so and has shown signs of improvement. Also, he will have a jockey change as the meets second leading rider Michael Baze will take the reigns in this about a mile and sixteenth turf event with yet another full-field of twelve going postward.

Troubled Seguro Finishes Sixth-Thursday July 8, 2010

From the starting gate to the wire it never seemed that Seguro was comfortable while finishing sixth beaten only two lengths at the wire. After continuing to balk at the gate for several minutes, jockey Diego Sanchez needed to dismount before Seguro would even load. After settling at the back of the pack, Seguro made a sustained bid starting in the far-turn and was widest of all entering the top of the stretch. He continued to pick up ground on the leaders but began to veer out to the middle of the track even with a right handed whip by Sanchez.
The amount of energy he expended with his antics at the starting gate ultimately took it’s it’s toll on his stretch drive but he did show he does have talent and heart and just needs to mature a bit mentally.
With all that happened, it does look that he has a future on the turf and came out of the race in good shape while cooling out comfortably back at the barn after the race.

Seguro To Try Turf Thursday-Monday July 5, 2010

With a fourth place finish in the Springfield Stakes in his last start, Seguro will be headed for the turf this Thursday in a NW1X event for Illinois breds at Arlington Park. There is a full-field of twelve going postward with Seguro breaking from the ten hole with regular rider Diego Sanchez in the irons.
The switch to turf is a logical one as his sire Cactus Ridge has thrown many a good turf horses as of late and Seguro’s dam side is filled with turf breeding as well. This will also be his first try around two-turns which should also help him with his late kick.

Seguro Fourth In Springfield Stakes-Monday July 5, 2010

After being bumped at the start and spotting the field over fourteen lengths down the backstretch, Seguro was swung wide and picked up momentum to finish fourth beaten only four lengths. Jockey Diego Sanchez said after the race that Seguro seemed a bit lazy and needed extra urging to get in the race. He came back to the barn in good shape.
